Funding for Import of Technology
The PARB has limited funds to finance import of agricultural technologies for local adaptation. The technology intended to be imported should be simple, intended to resolve key issues on small farms, and environmental friendly. The main objectives should be to reduce drudgery in agricultural operation and production cost, or introduce processes for producing new high-value agricultural commodities. Typically, the technology will be imported in private-public partnership mode, where public sector will import few samples of the technology or its original drawing, and facilitate its adaptation to local condition, while the private sector will take responsibility in commercialization of the original technology or the output produced from the technology.
